Apple TV doesn't start movies/episodes

Hi y'all,

Since a few days, I have had the problem that episodes or movies do not start after clicking them; actually, nothing happens. However, the weird thing is that some episodes/movies can start and, therefore, be watched.

I already tried out a few things: force stop of the app, restarting the Mac, checking for updates, resetting cache/warning/ and history of the app, and deleting com.apple.TV.plist file. But none of the steps helped, and I still have the problem, but do not know how to solve it.

Perhaps someone of you encountered the same or could help me, that would be awesome, thanks in advance :)

I have this too, these bugs are kinda annoying for a shiny shoud-be-superior to other tech garbage stuff, but hey its apple, it just works (sometimes).

I think it has to do with the age confirm dialog though, because when I started the first episode of a series on mac, it asked, you 16 dude?

But when I wanted to play the second one, no matter what I tried, nothing.

I started on the apple tv then, and there I was able to play the episode - but still asked hey man, are you older that 16?

Did you use shareplay by any chance ? - I did. Maybe if some folks in charge read this topic they will be nice enough to fix it. Its definetely since the last macos update.

Never used SharePlay. I can start the episode that does not work on my Mac on my iPhone, but then I am also not able to restart it on my MacBook. But I will give it a try with the shareplay.

It is quite an annoying problem tbh, because some episode works, others don't, mostly the 1st one never works :D

Yes, the age confirmation could be the problem, because exactly the same happens also on my site.....
