My MacBook Pro's Apple Menu bar turns black randomly by itself

I have my Apple menu bar set to grey but recently every now and then it switches to black and I have to turn the black option off under general settings. Any idea why this is happening and how to fix this permanently? I haven't installed anything. Two images attached below.

A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

you can Login and test. Reboot as normal and compare your results. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
