iPod classic 5 clicking sound and x icon on startup
how can I fix my iPod? It keeps clicking and I can’t access anything on it as it will give me the red icon.

Sorry, but the clicking sound is a sign that your hard drive is failing, thus the red icon.
The iPod needs to be serviced, but since Apple does not provide service anymore for older iPod models, you will have to look for a 3rd party iPod repair provider.
