How do I set up two HomePods on the same account?

How do set up two home pods on the same account, one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom that work independently? I’ve tried setting one on location ‘kitchen’ and the other location ‘bedroom’ but it doesn’t take.

if they’re both set up now in the same account you should be able to assign them to desired room in the Home App by selecting room (in yellow). If it’s still not working, see if your devices and HomePods need a software update and install.
