Can Apple unlock my Activation Locked iPhone X?

I bought a used iPhone X from a local store. I have proof that I bought it (a receipt), but it turns out to be activation locked. I have seen that Apple unlocks other phones when showing proof of purchase. Do you think I can get this unlocked?

What "one person"? Apple won't unlock the phone for you as you've already been told here unless you were the original buyer and you have the original purchase receipt from Apple or an Apple Authorized Seller, with the device serial number on the receipt. Since you don't have that, you'll be wasting your time to get any assistance from Apple.

Return it to the store you bought it from. If they have a no return policy, then you're out whatever the phone cost and you should recycle it responsibly.

No. You do not have proof of anything. The only thing Apple will accept is an original proof of purchase for a new device from Apple or an authorized retailer.

Return it to the store where you got it and get your money back.

If they won't give you a refund or replace it with a device that works, turn it over to the police as it's almost certainly stolen.
