How to fix inconsistent 'looks like Apple Music can't play that' error

My HomePod is giving me this message despite having played the albums many times before. It's happening with several artists but it will play named albums by the same artists. Eg I ask for music by Anthony Toner and get the above message, but I ask for Toner's album "Six Inches of Water" and it plays immediately.

Very annoying.
