How can I delete emails on Mac Studio without removing them from the Google server?

I have a 2022 Mac Studio, Sonoma 14.4.1. I have 10GB email stored. I would like to reduce that greatly.

1. If I go into the LIBRARY, and delete folder(s) from there, will they also be deleted on my Google drive?
2. Overall, how can I delete emails from my Studio, without deleting them from the Google site.
