Need to replace a corrupted QuickTime app that will no longer open.

I can't find the app on the App Store. I'm running macOS Monterey version 12.7.6

[Solved] Youtube app crashes - couldn't find it to delete it I had a YouTube App showing up in my Launcher, and I wanted to watch a YouTube, so I clicked the App. It crashed with a report about a strange app named blpcfgokakmgnkcojhhkbfbldkacnbeo.app I couldn't delete the app with option in launcher, and I couldn't see it in the Applications folder either. Using finder to search for blpcfgokakmgnkcojhhkbfbldkacnbeo found it which allowed me to drag it to the trash. Finder also found that name in a weird file called "Mac mini.spx" which I also trashed. No more fake YouTube app in Launcher, and there is no AppStore YouTube App for Mac so learned my lesson - play YouTubes in the browser when on my Mac.

As default apps are protected, the issue is likely with a separate support file (.plist, etc), or a conflicting/interfering app.

What symptoms are you experiencing? Why do you think something is corrupted? What happens when you try to open the QuickTime Player app?

It's not available individually. If the issue is with the application itself, instead of a preference or other file in your home folder, reinstall the OS.
