Unable to remove a song from my Apple Music playlist

I’m attempting to edit a (non-smart) playlist that I created by adding a variety of songs to it. Here’s what I’ve tried so far that didn’t work for removing a song:

1. Selected the song and hit the Delete key. This is the method suggested in the Apple Music Guide.

2. Selected the song and pulled down the Song menu. The menu selections are completely grayed out.

3. Right-clicked on the song. No options appear.

4. Clicked (and right-clicked) on the three little dots on the right side of the screen. No options appear.

5 Opened Music in safe mode and tried all the above

6 Restarted Mac and retried.

I see other people asking about this, but no solutions. Has anyone succeeded?
