How can I enlarge icons in the status bar on iPhone 16e?

Hi,

I used to be able to enlarge the status bar elements by pressing down on them. These include the clock, WiFi and battery icons.

i use reading glasses so this feature is useful as I can press the icons to view them without having to put on my glasses.

Can you advise how I can turn this feature back on.

Thank you

Hi, I tried the accessibility settings but could not find the option. According to chat gpt it’s been removed. See. Below:

In iOS 18, the feature that allowed you to tap on status bar elements—such as the clock or battery icon—to display an enlarged version in the center of the screen has been removed. Previously, this functionality was linked to accessibility settings, specifically when the text size was increased beyond a certain threshold. Users found that by adjusting the text size slider in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Larger Text, and enabling Larger Accessibility Sizes, tapping on status bar elements would produce a larger, centered display.

However, in iOS 18, this behavior seems to have been changed or removed. There is no official documentation from Apple explaining this change, and it has not been addressed in the release notes or support articles.
