Re: i would like to a bluetooth external mic using live listen (not to record) to be able to hear people in a crowded room because i have profound hearing loss. Also i would like to transcribe this input into text so i can read what they are saying live.

Your plan sounds amazing, yet am not so sure it can be achieved with existing hardware / software.
At least we get your discussion thread underway, and others with more expertise may join in.
It seems Live Listen requires the iPad itself as the microphone ... I could be wrong.
