Why is Siri's spelling dictation so slow on HomePod and unable to spell less common words?

Basically the title. I switched from an Echo to a Homepod in my living room about a year ago and it has been a mostly great experience. By far the largest frustration I'm having is the speed at which Siri spells words when asked. I work in a lot of programs that don't natively check spelling, so if I'm unsure of spelling I routinely asked my Echo to spell words out loud for me. It was much faster than googling the word to double check and I could continue working quickly. I actually can't stress enough how much I used this feature. Now with my Homepod, Siri dictates spelling GLACIALLY slow. As if I am a child just learning to read.

So to confirm this I timed how long it takes each device to spell "comfortably". Results are:

Echo: 6.7 seconds.

Siri: 16.7 seconds!!

Its so much slower it's actually unbelievable. Even if you could ramp Siri up to 200% speed it would STILL be slower. But at this point I'll take anything! For the life of me I cannot find a setting to speed up the spelling dictation! Surely this cannot be a fixed speed feature right? I know you can change Siri's speaking speed but I'm not interested in it sounding like a chipmunk when I'm asking it the weather. This is literally the ONLY thing it does too slow. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also, maybe this needs a second post but I'll go ahead and throw it in here. Can anyone explain why Siri on my Homepod cannot spell some words that aren't frequently used. I have asked it today to spell both "glacially" (for this post haha) and "ergonomic". And in both cases it prompted me to ask again on my phone because it found search results. I confirmed this by asking about both words repeatedly and aggressively enunciating. Still no dice. But lo and behold, when I ask Siri on my iphone it seems to be able to spell both words. Why would Siri have different spelling capabilities on different devices? If anything my iphone is actually OLDER than my Homepod. It doesn't make any sense to me.
