Upgraded RAM but 2017 iMac won’t boot up now

Mid-2017 iMac 27 with 8GB RAM. Was running fine right up until changing the RAM. I purchased 32 gb (2 x 16gb) from OWC.

I closed all apps and powered down. Disconnected the power cord. I carefully removed the old RAM and installed the new RAM. Made sure it was inserted correctly and firmly. I reinstalled the memory slot door, connected the power cord and tried to boot up. Nothing. Held the power button for 10 seconds (per Apple) but still nothing. I removed the new RAM and reinstalled the original RAM but still won’t boot up. Since there’s no power I don’t know what else I can do.

Appreciate any assistance. Thanks.

Contact OWC to what they say. I would remove the power cord from the wall and back of the Mac overnight and then put the original RAM back in. Then attempt a Safe Mode restart and then restart normally. If that fails, contact OWC for support.

You don't explain if there is any video or audio on start up. It is possible there may be hardware issue, however the upgraded RAM did not cause it. On an older machine (remember your iMac is 8 years old now) you may have had a coincidental hardware failure.
