When I use FaceTime, the other person can't hear me but I can hear them fine. I am using a MacBook Pro 18.4 (20621.1.15.11.10), when I use Discord or Zoom it works well.
I have rebooted and made sure the sound is on and as loud as it can get, they have rebooted their devices too.
Calling from my phone works, just not my MacBook Pro.

You can check the "View" menu in FaceTime to make sure the microphone on your Mac is not muted.
" If your Mac is connected to multiple audio devices or cameras, you can choose which one to use for FaceTime audio and video calls".

You could also check that another app (Eg: Voice Memos) isn't keeping the microphone.in use there.
