Apple Intelligence taking up storage space, even when it's turned off

Hello, I own a new MacBook Pro and I'm running the latest version of the OS to date (Sequoia 15.4.1). I have no interest in using Apple Intelligence, so I have the feature toggled "off" in settings.

My issue is with regard to the fact that it seems that, despite my not using Apple Intelligence, it is still taking up a whopping 12.5 GB of storage on the machine's SSD. That's honestly kind of ridiculous. For a feature that I have turned off, I'm still forced to have all of this junk taking up disk space?

I feel like a patch could address this relatively easily. If Apple Intelligence it turned off, the OS really should purge all the unused Apple Intelligence files.

I'll include a couple of screenshots for further context.

System Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri

System Settings > General > Storage > clicking on the 'i' in the macOS line item

Small update. I have updated the OS to Sequoia 15.5 and this hasn't changed. Does anyone know if Apple is planning to address this storage issue sometime soon?

I'm seeing a lot of similar feedback/questions from people unable to remove the Apple Intelligence files on other Apple devices (iPhones, iPads) too. It really is a bit silly that these files would just be living on the machine's storage--unused and taking up so much space--when they aren't needed or wanted by users with Apple Intelligence turned off.
