How do I resolve the 'black screen of death' issue on MacBook Pro M2?

Hi,

This is my first MacBook, it has been a neat laptop until 2 days ago. I had a rude awakening upon my searches online.... The black screen of death.

How can a company be aware of this issue and not assist in anyway, except offering to charge $617, which is 2/3 the price of the laptop....

It's only been 2 years or less. Anyone have any recommendations? I followed all the guides and nothing has worked. Can't afford a new laptop. Any help or direction is greatly appreciated. I suppose this shall be first and last of the Macs if we're truly all left of to dry here....

Cheers.

That is a very odd reply. If you google "Macbook Black Screen," you will find an alarming number of posts. If you're unaware or unable to help, no worries my friend. I'll wait for someone who can direct.

Essentially, the screen went black 2 nights ago while using it. I can still get an external display to work. But, my screen is black with a hint of backlight on it. Followed the 5 steps of recommended trouble shooting to no resolve.

You possibly work for Apple? Odd you have never heard of this......

I am really not interested in what google searches bring up as results. I want to know EXACTLY what YOU are experiencing for symptoms.

Could you please explain what happens when your screen goes blank, and if and when it ever works properly?

One reason I dislike the results of google searches, is that they tend to be divergent, and pull in a whole lot of things that have no business being included in the original query.

In the case of a term like "black screen of death" this is likely a term coined by a user to refer to their exact issue, but thousands of others with unrelated problems latch onto that term, and say "me too" when there problems are NOT the same.

Based on careful analysis on a case-by case basis, there can be a lot of issues in portable electro-mechanical computing devices with moveable displays. But at this writing, the most egregious issues in specific failure-prone models HAVE been addressed with recall programs for those specific problems.

Complex portable Electro-mechanical devices fail at random, arbitrary, and capricious times.

The most frequent reason for most failures is 'just because'.

Your specific failure is most likely caused by an advanced scientific principle called ...

... 'bad luck'..
