once complete shut down and restart the Mac more than once to resolve any issues seems to work on most.

I don’t have any of those problems. I have no idea about Goolag meet as I avoid all of their junk.

I guess from your other info, you use that in Safari? You might want to check the website settings as you can enable/disable the microphone per website in Safari.

If you think chrome will solve your problems, you should use it.
