Can I use Apple Music songs in my iMovie slideshows?

I subscribe to apple music (during the promotional period) and i also purchase via iTunes songs I want to keep and use in slideshows i make on iMovie. Recently i have found i have the songs i purchased showing up in the music selection but won't let me drag it down to the slideshow. I paid $1.29 for the songs and I thought that covered the licensing to listen to and play in my own private slideshows. I used to buy muisc online from walmart but now it seems this is the only site i can download the music from.

Short of playing the song on the computer and recording on iPhone is there another way to use or find out before i purchase - the songs for slideshows
