Why am I receiving emails stating that my active iCloud account has expired?

My Icloud account is active and the payment I have connected is active. So why am I receiving emails that my icloud account is expired?

It's likely spam, designed to trick you into thinking the message is from Apple, and aiming to steal your account credentials when you click any link to 'update your payment method'.


Do not click any links in the message, and delete the email.
