How do I remove the persistent microphone icon in Messages on iPhone?

Is it this? The blue microphone indicator will appear after tapping the dictation button on the bottom or the microphone to the right of the message box. You may be tapping it by accident to enable dictation. You can turn off dictation by going to Settings > General > Keyboard > Enable Dictation, and turning the switch off. The microphone will no longer appear when the keyboard comes up.

Toggle Off Raise to Listen:

1. Go to: Settings
2. Tap: Apps
3. Tap: Messages
4. Toggle Off: Raise to Listen
