How can I retrieve old iTunes songs without Apple Music?

Here’s a quick work around for those who don’t subscribe to Apple Music but can’t find their songs from the old iTunes

After being frustrated for a few yrs And not getting anywhere with apple

i tried this and it worked

You need a back up on a n external drive of all your music you had in itunes

(luckily I did)

simply add your mp3 files as an audiobook

save music in the iTunes audiobook folder

it Worked for me
