Calendar on iPad not syncing with iPhone

I’ve checked I’m signed in to the Cloud with the same username and password. I turned them both off and shut down both devices. In a last resort I deleted the calendar app on my phone and then reinstalled it again but it still not working. Any suggestions? 🙏
