After updating my iPad gen 6 to 17.7.6 it has problems. Now certain apps like Bank of America and Outlook fail from network error while other apps like YouTube and Facebook work fine. Certain web sites in Safari like Amazon display text with no graphics other sites work fine. I have reset network settings. Many sites now warn me that it may be a fake site when it is a site I am familiar with.

Thank you, problem is fixed. I went to manage VPN in settings while I found no VPNs listed when I closed and returned home the iPad was working correctly again.
Perhaps a long shot:
Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN.
no vpn installed, nor listed, I reset network settings, I deleted history in safari, installed firefox, restarted several times, installed ca root certificate 3 from the apple web site, finally I started to become desparate. It all began with the update to IOS 17.7.6 and mail cannot find m.hotmail.com, bank app cannot find trusted site, many websites cannot be consulted due to security error.

If your iPad or iPhone isn’t running iOS 18.4.1, and Settings > General > Software Update shows no errors and shows the version and “is up to date”, then your iPad or iPhone isn’t supported on newer versions.
If you are seeing an error when you try to update, what is the error shown?

If it is a model that supports iOS 17 the only update you can do is to the latest version of iOS 18.
