Safari- saved expiration dates change and then autofill one month earlier on correctly saved credit cards
Just like this "closed post" Safari Autofill Routinely Changes Expirat… - Apple Communit, the same thing happens to both my husband and me with different cards and not shared numbers.
The first time we noticed it, we were on vacation and Alaska Air kept declining our payment. After 3 days and many wasted hours of calling the Bank of America Credit Card Department and Alaska Air, the culprit was discovered to be my husband's MacBook was autofilling the expiration date 1 month earlier than the card expires. We thought it odd because he'd used it many times before, but figured he'd somehow changed it by accident. But the same thing happened to the card I was trying to use from another bank?!?!
Since then, it has routinely happened to the point whenever a card is declined (like today), the first thing I do it check on the actual card and sure enough it's one month earlier.
It happens on different cards (Visa/MC, AMEX), different banks (BofA, Chase...) without a trigger that I can determine. It is saved across devices (watch, laptop, phone), but never input incorrectly, and it works for months and then suddenly without known reason, an online checkout declines the card.
The ONLY thing I can think of is whether it cold be resulting from traveling to different times zones.
Clearly, from a web search we are not alone!
