Screen update problems with multiple apps under Ventura 13.7.5
I recently updated to Ventura 13.7.5. Since then I'm having unusual screen update problems with a couple apps that I use regularly. There may be problems with other apps, but I've noticed problems with Word and BBEdit. With Word for Mac, after selecting text and changing its properties (e.g. bold, font size), the change is not reflected on the screen until I click the cursor back on the text. Another example: I save the current file, and the title bar says it is being saved, but it never finishes and says the save is completed, and it is NOT completed, until I exit Word, at which time the file is saved. With BBEdit, the window sidebar in open projects shows the folders in the project, but the folders are empty. If I add the folder a second time to the project, it shows the containing files, and then the first instance of the folder also begins showing the containing files, and I can then delete the second added folder and the first folder is now operating correctly, showing its files. I've run a memory diagnostic, memory is fine. I've run a hard drive diagnostic and it seems fine. I suspect a problem with file system events in the new macOS update. Activity monitor shows fseventsd running at heavy CPU load quite often.
