Sound problem HomePods ARC

Hi,


I’m having sound problems with my HomePods 2n gen. I have two that is connected via my Apple TV.


in some apps, the sound works fine. But in other apps the sound is lagging. On/off, on/off.


The worst part is when I use my Xbox and the sound is going through ARC (earc) to my LG oled c3. 9/10 times to sound is lagging.


I have tried many settings on my TV. Bitstream/PCM/Auto/Passtrough


I have tried different HDMI cables. At the moment I have HDMI 2.1 ULTRA certified cables. Both to my Apple TV and my Xbox.


I have also checked my network. Both wired and wireless.

Changed channels on my WiFi. Even tried with a different router.


I have of course tried to factory reset both my HomePods and my Apple TV. I also tried yesterday with a completely new Apple TV.


Every device is also updated to the latest firmware.


The hardest thing is that sometimes everything works.


Feels like I’m running out of troubleshooting alternatives now…


maybe some interruption in my house from neighbours ?


I really love my HomePods so I don’t want to switch to another sound solution.

To be honest, we do have had some sound issues as well, our setup is similar to yours, we don’t use an Apple TV or HomePods though. We do not currently know what could have caused the issues (sometimes very laggy, sometimes not working at all), we messed a bit with the cables, and suddenly it started working again. I don’t know if this is related to your HomePods or Apple TV, but maybe someone else has a solution.
