How do I create an iTunes library ITL file for recovery and locate missing album folders?
SO.. the issues keep coming :-
- Here's my first question: I had a corruption of iTunes and it was recommended to ( HOLD Shift/Click on Itunes/select library) .. indeed that worked but it would only open a default library with one purchased song (that is all I have) and the hihjacked U2 album. I lost over 100,000 songs and a massive amount of work from over quite a few years. I was able to find an older 'previous iTunes Library' , opened it but it went back to 2018, far from up to date, many recent albums and songs lost.(I do have a backup of all my music though) I have used that 'previousiTunes library' to rebuild my playlists and Library. NOW.. here's the thing. IF.. i have another issue and need to use a "previous iTunes library' to recover my work I can't . Why? Because there is NO 'previous itunes library' that represents what I have presently.
My question is simple: How do i create a library ITL file for recovery purposes. There is only one iTunes
Music database File {19kb} in the iTunes folder. NO itl file. NO previous itunes library file.
SO.. i have 5757 albums now in a rebuilt iTunes. My iTunes Media folder is in E:\Music\iTunes. In that
directory I have 3 folders. (Automatically Add to iTunes), (iTunes) & (Music) and ( .iTunes Preferences).
(Automatically Add to iTunes) is empty.
(iTunes) has 125 Folders. within those for example David Bowie holds 1 Folder with 1 song in it. In iTunes there are actually 17 Bowie albums with 220 songs.
(Music) has 1 folder Klaatu with 1 album in it. 8 songs. As in iTunes.
The question is where are the missing 5600+ folders/albums hiding?
YES.. the application does open OKAY when exited and reopened.
Again Apple can't help. So I come to the Community.
Any advice or direction would HIGHLY appreciated. I am reluctant to turn my PC off as who know what might happen to a huge amount of work.
Thanks in advance,
Michael
