Why is my MacBook Pro not supported for AirDrop on my iPhone?

Why can't I airdrop all of a sudden? Did you update the phone to ban my products? I hate you right now. I've tried all the settings, it's not me, it's you.

No problem, this is a Support Site that volunteers can help other users which is sponsored by Apple, but their participation is mostly for moderation. Users are not able to remove posts and without this moderation, it would just be filled with Spam messages. This is exactly the same as the Google support site where it is volunteers over there that provides assistance on the Google Support site. Anytime you would like to speak to Apple directly you can do that here:

Contact Apple Support - Apple Support

If you would like help with your issue, it may be best to provide more information as suggested by Grant Bennet-Alder. I can assure you that paying for iCloud storage does not prevent you from using AirDrop as I pay for iCloud storage and use AirDrop constantly between my Mac and 2 different iPhones.

With an Airdrop issue, always start with restarting your router, then follow up with restarting the devices and verify they are still connected to the same WiFi network with Bluetooth turned on. If there is an issue where you are not seeing the device you want to AirDrop to, then try changing the AirDrop settings on the receiving device to accept from Everyone as a test. If it works when using Everyone, then the problem lies in a change in your Contacts on that device where the Apple Account used for the sending device is no longer listed in one of your Contacts.

Please follow up with the additional information and if the problem is ony from going to one to another or if it is not possible in both directions.

No APPLE employees participate here. I hope you are feeling better after Venting to the volunteers -- other users like you -- who read and answer queries here.

if you would like help, readers need to know:

what model and model-year MacBook Pro, including screen size and processor type including {(plain) PRO MAX ULTRA if appropriate}

Version of MacOS you are running.

what model iPhone, and what version of IOS you are running.

Sorry, considering it was on the apple.com site I thought I was going to the source. Sorry for the hate, I don't usually use that word but after an hour of trying what used to be a thing, I was frustrated. Apple isn't the same as it once was. But it turned out to be a combo of me and Apple (I'm still not sure how it's a volunteer run resource but living on apple's site - more of why I'm not loving the company right now). I didn't realize that by paying to have icloud storage I lose my ability to easily airdrop. Not great. Not you, I get it. Apologies. Thanks for replying.
