How to check if my 'Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter' is original?

Hi, I recently acquired a lightening to 3.5 audio dongle and wanted to know if it’s OEM..

Did you purchase it directly from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller? If so, it should be an original Apple product. If not, then it could be a fake. There is no way, just looking at a photo, that anyone here can determine that it is an original or a fake. Even the label on the cable could have been faked.


The question is why would you think that it was not an original Apple product?

Thanks. Someone gave it to me but I suspect it’s counterfeit because I get slight pop/crackling noise between youtube videos or similar with my sensitive IEMs…! Not a hissing noise or anything else only slight brief tick sound few seconds after an audio stops!

Wanted to make sure before I order a new one from Apple or elsewhere? Cause it seems the lightening version is discontinued by Apple!
