After login, get a prompt to have a code texted to me as the browser is not recognized as a trusted device, even though I have indicated in the past that it is a trusted private device

Connect to the the internet with your Mac - Apple Support
rule out filters:
>System Settings>
WiFi, details and set private wifi to none
uncheck limit ip address tracking
Turn OFF firewall if you have that on.
