Mail app notification sounds not working on iPhone 16 running iOS 18

Mail notifications are not accompanied with sounds. I have done the following;

checked all settings in Notifications;

checked settings in mail app.

All other notification alerts are working as set.

Any suggestions or guidance is appreciated.
