Macbook and iPhone messages do not always sync.

This just started happening - sometimes, SOME of the messages will not show up on MacBook . These are Apple user messages (so not the green words). Also, right now, some people's prior messages are all gone on MacBook (when they were there last week). I am updated on all devices.
