How can I stop iCalendar from deleting event text?

Hi,

Occasionally, iCalendar deletes the text of newly created events after creating them. It happens often but not always. The affected calendars are linked to Exchange. Has anybody else come across this problem and found a solution?

New event has new details and I don’t want the past events and many of them show up. I notice this question has been asked before. Please don’t tell me the solution is to delete all my past events on my calendar. They are needed for record keeping, as I imagine is the case for many people. There must be an option to turn off past event auto fill somewhere. To be clear, I’m not talking about Siri suggestions to add an event from my email, I’m speaking of when I add an event with the same name as an event(s) prior (which I do all the time and which the details are different each time), the system pops up a whole multitude of past events to auto fill with. I would like to either turn this function off or clear the cache memory and start fresh. This is very annoying the way it is and it shouldn’t be annoying to use my calendar.

Events generated from texts not linking When I click on a calendar event generated from a text message (i.e. someone asks me to meet Friday at 1 and I created an event from that text) and click on “show in messages”, it no longer takes me to the original text rather it creates a new message “to: /open” . Events generated from emails link up just fine, it’s only those via text. Thanks for any insights!

Why can't I select text in iCloud Calendar events? Recently, I've noticed on my laptop that when I create a new iCloud Calendar event I am unable to select one or more words with either my mouse or CTRL-A to delete or edit. I can't even select the default 'New Event' text to replace it. Instead, I'm forced to place the cursor to the right of Event and repeatedly hit the [Delete] key. This used to work and now no longer does. I've tried this in both Chrome and Edge. No joy. [Re-Titled by Moderator]
