Why do I not receive notifications on my iPhone unless I open the app?

I have an Iphone 15 and am getting no notifications on my phone unless I go into the App. Today I had an issue with my Mac that said that my OS was no longer compatible for supporting Teams. They could be linked?

That’s weird. Try a forced restart and see if that works: press volume up, then volume down then hold power button (do these steps very quick) until it powers down AND sleep your finger on the button until the apple logo appears. If this doesn’t work, make sure to check your notification settings.
