Why is Apple Music restricted in Russia?

Hello, I live in Russia, and I really love music, I can’t live without it, but why has Apple Music restricted its services in my country? I can’t listen to Russian music – I don’t like it!! I want to listen to something new, like Travis Scott’s Utopia, Carti’s I Am Music. But I can’t do that. Why, I am just an ordinary citizen of my country, and I haven’t done anything wrong, yet I lose this opportunity?

There is no litmus test on each user on what they support or do not support. The restrictions are placed on the countries for their actions or regulations. Sales and Service provided by Apple is also restricted in Russia and that applies to the region as a whole. It would simply not be possible to pick and choose who they want to support in a particular region. The same is true for us in the US where we have to live with the decisions of the Government and do not get any special treatment if we do not support their actions.

There are a number of ordinary citizens of Ukraine who haven't done anything wrong, and yet who have lost a lot as a result of Russia's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. Including many families who have had their children kidnapped and taken to Russia to be raised as Russians.

If Apple Music is not available in Russia, maybe it has something to do with this, and the sanctions that followed? I believe that Apple did halt many product sales and limit services as a result of that invasion.
