How do I enable passcode lock for hidden photos folder instead of Face ID on iPhone?

I don’t want it to use Face ID I want it to use a passcode only

Not what you would call "helpful"....since you were looking for the answer that you wanted.....but the real answer is that you can't.

You cannot. There is no way to use a passcode only. It will ask for FaceID first always.

Your answer made perfect sense to me and was, under the circumstances, the best available.

I've noticed that sometimes, if you don't phrase the answer as "No, you can't do that, but here are your options," people think that you either read the question wrong or that you are keeping the real answer a secret.

You have to find humor where you can! Our water heater kind of blew up, after only 5 years and the plumber is on his way to get a new water heater to install this afternoon. I could have used that money, as water heaters aren't inexpensive $$$$.
