How to preserve open Safari tabs when transferring iPad data to a newer device?

Will I lose my open Safari tabs if I transfer my iPad data to a newer device?

Moving from iPad-4 iOS 15.84 to iPad-6 iOS 18.4

I did this once, but lost them. I had a backup to my MBP and have now also backed up to iCloud.

I am thinking of resetting the new iPad and starting again, but if if will not work, this will be wasting time.

So, the answer is, NO, open tab data is NOT stored in backups. I had to find out the hard way when I reset my new iPad.

BUT I can see all tabs on my old iPad AND I can copy the links. Where does that file land please and how can I 'install' it on my new iPad, so that it makes sense to Safari?
