OS X base system on startup 2007 MacBook

Hi, I have a really old MacBook (2007) which was working ok yesterday. I wanted to reformat it to factory settings to recycle it but I was having a look around where to do that. When I went into “disk utility” I ran out of time. Now I can’t get out of that. Even restarting it and using Command R or other suggestions I have seen it just boots to Disk Utility and OS X Base System. How do I force it to just reboot as normal? I haven’t got any CDs or anything to run a reboot. Thanks.
