How do you create a playlist of individual podcasts?

I want to make a simple playlist out of individual podcast episodes. Much like one is now able to do in Spotify (which I will probably give up on this and just keep using) or the old iTunes. I can make a station, I can put podcasts in "up next". But I just want to make a playlist, add individual episodes to that playlist and play it back in the order that I made the playlist. There is just no way I can figure out how to get individual episodes in a "Channel". It makes me choose all, or partial entries from each (latest etc.). Why would one be easily able to make a playlist of individual songs in the music app but not able to do the same in the podcast app? Why is this not a logical feature to have?
