Safari does't ask me where to download

Whenever i try to download an item using safari( macos sequoia macbookpro M4), safari wont let me choose the download location.

Yes i have enabled the Ask for each download option in settings and its still downloads any files in the Downloads folder.

Anybody has a solution for this bug? Apparently thid issue persists since 2023 or so.

Safari Download Location Not Working In Safari, when I select my download location as "Ask for each download" it just automatically downloads to my Downloads folder without asking. The setting doesn't change, it just never asks. If I change the setting to a specific location, such as my Desktop, it works fine. Any ideas how I can fix this? Safari not asking location for download Hi, I am using MacBook Air M2. In Safari preferences, I have opted for Safari to ask me the location for a file to be saved before it is downloaded. However, despite this, Safari proceeds to download the file into the downloads folder every single time. Any solutions please?
