Microsoft 365 Subscription not Working

Hello there,

I purchased the Microsoft 365 bundle from the AppStore, which should include Word, Excel, OneDrive, etc... It worked fine until today. I got a new dropdown message in Word telling me I needed a subscription to edit and save with Word on my MacBook Air M2...

I uninstalled Word and re-installed it from the AppStore. I tried to "Activate" and "Restore Previous Purchase" but it says I do not have a subscription under that Apple ID... But when I go to my mac's settings, under subscriptions, it clearly shows that I have a subscription for Microsoft 365, for 99$ per year.

Can someone please help?

Thanks

MacBook Air, 15.3

I did not subscribe by using the hide my email feature. It was still not working, no matter what I tried. Then I simply entered my Microsoft login and it seems to be working now. But I think something is still wrong with the way Apple manages that subscription. It appears impossible to fix on my side when buying directly from the App Store. I thought it would be more convenient to subscribe via the App Store rather than Microsoft. But it turns out to be less seamless. Thanks for your answer!

This same thing happened to a colleague of mine. Her Office 365 was working just fine until this past Monday, March 31, 2025. We tried everything except uninstalling and reinstalling Office 365. I will check her Apple ID and verify that it has a subscription. I think that she may have one but using a different Apple ID.
