turn off blue caps lock indicator on screen

Is there a way to turn off this super annoying blue caps lock indicator that shows up on screen when I have caps lock on? At my job, they want a lot of things typed in all caps, so I have caps lock on a lot. The indicator is helpful if I'm typing in a hidden password; but I'd like the OPTION to turn this indicator off if I wanted to.
