Apple Classical gapless playback not working

On Apple Music Classical (and normal Apple Music), streamed recordings with continuous play at track changes have audible gaps. It is particularly important for many classical recordings (and many pop ones as well) so that the play is uninterrupted at every change of track.

I've turned off Dolby Atmos and have the latest iOS 18.3.2. This has been a problem for a long time now, and it is very damaging for Apple Classical. Other streaming services are effortlessly gap-free (except when there should be an audible gap) as were CD players from their outset in the early 1980's.
