Cannot sync iMac music to iPhone (sorted by metadata with Get Info).

I have a large music collection that I have spent (probably too) much time sorting. Mainly when Artist is a person (vs. Group) I use Get Info metadata to sort by last name, first name. See below (first screenshot iMac, second screenshot iPhone). Same Apple ID, all music shows up on iPhone, just sorting not syncing.

My music does not appear in iPhone Music app even though it shows as synced to the device in Finder on Macbook I manually manage the music that is on my iPhone by connecting via USB to my Macbook and using the Sync Selected Artists option via Finder. I select several artists and click Sync. As the sync runs, I can see the artists appear on the Music app of the iPhone, but as the sync completes they disappear from the Music app. When I open Apple Music on the Macbook and select the iPhone from on the sidebar, the artists that I selected to sync do show up. So it appears that the files do actually transfer to the iPhone because Music can see them there, but they are not visible on the iPhone itself. The music files are available and I can play them on the Macbook. Both the Macbook and iPhone are on the latest version of software as of the time of posting (iOS 16.6, Ventura 13.5). I have been using this process to manage my library on these exact devices for a couple of years now. I do not have an Apple Music subscription. Anybody have any ideas?

The option to SYNC LIBRARY in the Music app is not available on Mac or iPhone My Music library is not syncing (on WiFi) between my iPhone and Mac. Both devices show the same Apple ID. The option/check box to SYNC LIBRARY does not show up in my iPhone app or in Music on my Mac as shown here: (from an Apple Support thread re: Sync Library). This is what I see on my Mac: My iPhone is similar - there is no option to select SYNC LIBRARY. I am NOT subscribed to Apple Music. Is this a requirment to sync my music library? When I connect to my Mac with a Lightning Cable, then I have an option to sync but I still don't see the app menu options show above (and in the support threads on this forum) in either the Mac or iPhone. My iCloud syncs my files between devices and Photos, Mail, Messages, etc. all sync between devices (if that provides any additional info). How do I correct that??? Thanks in advance!
