Mx50s Headphones w MacBook Air M2, Logic Pro

I’ve been using Mx50s Headphones w Logic Pro for years with great results, BUT I recently switched from an older iMac to a MacBook Air M2, and now the Mx50s sound terrible — very tinny, no bass. I’m totally stumped. Can anyone offer insight?

Sound Output Changes on its Own MacBook Air (2022) and the sound output keeps switching over to "external headphones". I have never used external headphones. There is no rhyme or reason to why this switch happens. I'll be listening to something and suddenly can't hear anymore and it's because the output has changed all by itself to "external headphones". One Apple support person had me do some sort of reset and it was fixed for a couple of weeks. Now it's doing it AGAIN. Has anybody else had this problem? Is there a fix for it that will actually work or do I need to ship my MacBook off for repair? (NOTE: I saw this same topic from 2011 so it's a known issue)!

Sound quality is very poor on a brand new M2 Macbook Pro 13" I'm pretty sure it's not just me, although the posts I've seen only relate to the M1 MBP. The sound quality outside of iTunes is extremely poor. Changing the EQ in iTunes only fixes the issue in iTunes. Outside of that, system wide, the sound quality sounds like it's being run through a cloth or something, it's got a muffled tone to it, and it's even noticeable while wearing my AirPods Pros (1st gen though I speculate it doesn't matter what generation.) There is an outside application called eqMac that I was able to use to change the eq and boost the treble up quite a bit, but it uses a bunch of energy and I really don't think I should have to install a third party app the fix this.

poor sound output from the new mac mini recently our office acquired new Mac Minis. we notice that the minis produce poor sound and the direction is towards the back which makes listening difficulty with other background noises. We are looking for solutions to address this. I brought my gaming headphones (Soundstage SSANC- noice cancelling bluetooth over the ears set) and tried connecting but the mini does not recognize these to pair.

Is it possible that your headphone jack is just faulty? I have to imagine it’s a hardware issue. Have you tried those headphones on other devices per chance?
