iPod Nano 3rd generation, no storage and doesn't get recognized

I've recently bought an old iPod nano 3rd generation, it was all up and running, but I restored it using apple music on my Macbook so it was all clean. I tried putting music on it, but when I dragged and dropped music from my library, it wouldn't show up in the iPod section. When I tried fixing the problem I accidentally formatted it and now whenever I plug the iPod into my Macbook it doesn't show up in my library and is shown as a drive, rather than an iPod.

The iPod still works, however when I got in the 'About' section, it says it only has 0kb of storage left, while it is totally empty and only has 3 games

Could anyone help me fix this?
