How to alleviate extreme eye pain and migraine-like headaches from MacBook Pro M4 screen in any time of the day?

there are many entries in this group yet no one really knows what it is that causes. so far I have reduced the pain substantially by using some apps like StillColor(temporalDithering closed as well as uniformity2d) and BetterDisplay and f.lux(nightshift etc.). refresh rate is set to 60 and I closed all automatic change of brightness etc. Also, downloaded some color profiles like old sRGB from adobe and couple of different ones, which helped a bit. The environment in which I use the computer needs to be illuminated well. otherwise I have more pain. This info can help you figure out what is the problem perhaps? I also checked my lcd panel manufacturer by typing some bash line I found online and it starts with FMX. Giving this detail because some think that there is a panel lottery where each MacBook has panels from different manufacturers. Don't know if it is correct. The pain is much worse when I use the computer outside in daylight. Incredible amount of glare and perhaps uneasiness of sight. I also had a problem in my Asus notebook lately not in the first times I used but just before couple of years ago I had this problem there as well. some people say screen protector would be helpful. some say check the eye doctor, could be binocular vision dysfunction etc. so like please just talk about your experiences and what you did if you had this painstaking problem. Thank you.

You are making wild accusations against Apple here. And Apple uses many of the same style panels as other laptop manufacturers. You said you had the same issue with an Asus notebook. The problem here is not what lcd panels Apple uses on the MacBook Pro. You are the problem. See an ophthalmologist. You may need some kind of corrective or filtered lens, contacts.

I am not accusing anything here, merely conveying what people have said about this. What do you care so much man? I don't get it. are you the lawyer of the company, geez? Also I am not saying I don't have a problem. It is possible that my eyes are quite sensitive to "sth about this Macbook". however, this does not mean necessarily that solely I have the problem. anything is possible.

See a doctor. We users can not diagnose your eye issues.

Are you for real? I mean, what a suggestion right. Where in exactly I ask you to diagnose my problem? I am trying to reach out people who had undergone some sort of a similar situation. And also some others who are kind and clever enough to consider other possibilities as to why it might be?

I know that if I was experiencing the symptoms you describe I would not be seeking advice from random users in a global technical help community. I would be seeking professional medical advice. But you are free to do what you think best to help your medical issue.

Have you told Apple about your experiences?

Since you asked, a long time ago Apple released a software update that resulted in a vague visual discomfort that I could not express any better other than to say something had changed that caused the Mac to be uncomfortable and fatiguing to use for more than about a half hour. I told Apple about it, and it was addressed in a subsequent update. No more discomfort. I do not know exactly what they changed, but they contacted me later to follow up.

Bottom line, if you don't tell Apple about it nothing is going to happen. Nothing may happen anyway, but given the number of different Mac models and the variety of displays used even within a single model means it will be unreasonable to expect anyone to come up with a solution for you.

My suggestion? Turn down the brightness. Most people I casually observe are staring at a display I would find intolerably bright.
