Will the Picture-in-Picture feature be blurry?

There was a report on a Chinese site that the new "Picture in Picture" feature is blurry. I asked the OP to provide feedback. Are you experiencing the same issue?

I'm using an older version so I'm not familiar with the new features. I have some questions for those of you using the newer version about the "From full screen" setting.

OP settings:

  • From: From Fullscreen
  • Build Out: None
  • To: Left Edge
  • Movie Style: Wipe

My guess:

  • Start the animation with a blurred photo displayed full screen.
  • Shrink the blurred photo from right to left while gradually disabling the blur effect.
  • The shrunken photo is placed on the left, and the same blurred photo is placed in the background.

Q1: I'm imagining an animation like this, is that right?

I don't understand the question and where is the PIP effect? I can't find it in any of my different versions of FCP.

I always use the Transform tool and/or various masks.

As far as I can tell, it is a new effect introduced in FCP 11.

I opened a copy of 10.8.1 and it is not there.

In FCP 11, it is called "Picture in Picture" and is in the "Reframe" category (or you can simply select "All" and type into the search box).
