Syncing my iPhone with MacBook Pro deletes songs

Hello and thanks for reading this.

I bought a new MBP. When I synced my Music library to my iPhone some songs were not copied to the iPhone and got a message that either “…the song were not copied to the iPhone because it cannot be played on this iPhone” and/or “…because the file type is not supported by the iPhone”.

All songs were ok with my older MBP.

Searching the web I found a post saying that they converted the songs from mp3 to M4A it solved the problem. I did it didn’t help.

I use a software called iMazing to back up my iPhone. It allows me to drag the song directly into its desktop. When I did that the song was playing on my iPhone but while it was playing I did another sync and that deleted the song.

I don’t have any subscription to Apple Music. All songs in my laptop.

Anyone can suggest a solution?

When you sync the iPhone to your library it will only copy over tracks that exist in your Music library (and don't fail to transfer for the reasons given earlier). Unless you add the track on your desktop to your Music library it will be removed from the device. How many songs fail to transfer? Can you see any pattern in those songs, e.g. format, source, etc.? Music can potentially be picky if the internal format of the file doesn't match the file extension.

First of all, I appreciate your reply.

I was reading on Forbes.com today: "iOS 18.3.2—Update Now Warning Issued To All iPhone Users" "This update provides important bug fixes and security updates, and addresses an issue that may prevent playback of some streaming content."

I completed the upgrade, and voila! Problem solved.

Once again, thank you, and I hope you enjoy your evening.
