Why can't I add new iTunes songs to my iMovie audio library?

I've been making iMovies for some time, but why can't I add new itune songs to my iMovie audio library now?

I've tried everthing I can think of. My new iTunes playlist shows up in iMovie, but the playlist is empty.

I re-joined iTunes today.

Help!

"Add songs to Library when adding to playlists" option missing? Hi, I want to create playlists in iTunes without adding the songs to my library, and when I Googled, I found out about the "Add songs to Library when adding to playlists" option. However, when I open iTunes and go to Edit > Preferences > General, that option is completely missing. In the top section where it's supposed to be, there's only my library name and an option for "Show Apple Music Features". I'm running Windows 10 Pro v.21H2, and my iTunes version is 12.10.11.2. I'd like to have this option available, but I'm very confused why it isn't showing up, if there are any prerequisites etc., and Google has been unhelpful. Thanks for any assistance.

Cannot add imported music to a playlist I have an Apple Music subscription, and I would like to add mp3's to my Apple Music library, in which I usually do through iTunes. But now I can no longer add my imported music to any of my playlists. I used to be able to, but I can't anymore. When I try to add them to a playlist, they show up in the playlist for about 2 minutes, and then disappear when I check the playlist again.

Are they protected? Or streamed?
